CLSS Awas CLAP portal is the online platform through information and services are delivered to the beneficiaries. This Scheme is under Pradhan Mantri Yojana. It primarily helps the Middle-Income groups, Economically Weaker Sections and Lower-Income groups. The government wants to provide all these groups with affordable houses. They are also offering subsidy for house construction and reconstruction.
The Prime Minster launched this scheme on 25th June 2015 as a component under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), which aims to provide housing to all till 2022. To complete this aim some agencies are put together such as Central Nodal Agencies(CNAs) and State /Union Territories (UTs). The Size of house for Economically Weaker Section is 30 sq.mt as per center guidelines but State/UTs can alter it accordingly.
The best thing in this scheme is that, women empowerment is also propagated by the Government. Under the guidelines it is mandatory to make women (who is head of the family) owner or co-owner of the house. It is an initiative under this scheme.
CLSS Awas Portal- CLAP
CLSS Awas is implemented as a central sector scheme, whereas the other attached schemes will be implemented as sponsored scheme. The CLSS will be initiated to the people through two agencies namely, National Housing Bank and Housing Urban Development Corp. It will not only provide credit flow but also provide affordably priced housing.
This Scheme is basically for the citizens belonging to less previliged section of society like Low-Income groups who are not much affluent to but a house. They can get housing loans under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme. They can borrow loan for construction of house or adding a new part to the already constructed house too.
The allotted interest subsidy will be 6.5 % for over a tenure of 20 years or till the time completion of loan. It will be selected on the basis of which ever is lower. on the basis of Income people whose salary is Rs 3 to 6 lakh annually can enjoy benefits of the scheme. There are certain specific categories who are guaranteed special preferences. Those are Women(Female head of the family), ST, SC, Backward Classes, minorities, people with disabilities and transgenders.

CLSS Awas Portal (CLAP)
CLSS Awas Portal (CLAP) is a special web portal built by the Ministry of Housing Affairs. This portal is created to provide clarity to the system and work process. Therefore, NIC and CNA have worked together to create this secure and transparent system.
CLSS Tracker which is a feature in CLAP helps to check the application status of the user.CLAP software works on real-time support with the UIDAI, CNAs, PLIs and PMAY(U) MIS system for Aadhaar validation and duplication with other verticals of PMAY (U). It has decreased effort for the banks and its process. The subsidies are processed at a faster rate.
Verticals of PMAY(U)
There are four option provided under this scheme so it could cover people of every income category. They are provided scheme depending upon income generation.
- “In- Situ” Slum Redevelopment (ISSR)
- Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS)

Ownership of House
The ownership of the house is mandated by the government to the adult female member of the family under the guidelines issued. Either the ownership can totally be given to the adult female member or she can be the co-owner. It is also made necessary to have basic things in the house such as toilet. This has also empowered the women of society.

A citizen can avail this scheme under PMAY(U), if the user belongs to lower economy category such as EWS, LIG, or MIG and satisfy the given conditions-

Eligible for the scheme under sub-divided category:
- Economically Weaker Section

- LIGs or Light Income Group
- LIGs, those categories whose annual family income within Rs.3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh range.
- Medium Income Group-I
- MIG1 annual income should be below Rs.12 lakh.
- Medium Income Group-II
- The family yearly income should be in the range of Rs.12 to Rs.18 lakh.
- A MIG II category subsidy will be 3% only.

How to track application status?
The beneficiary of the scheme has to follow the following steps in order to check application status.
- Visit the official website of CLSS Awas Scheme
- Once the homepage opens, search the CLSS Tracker option and click on the option.
- Once it opens, you need to fill in the details such as application number.
- Once you do that , an OTP will be generated on your registered mobile number.
- Then , enter that OTP code for verification
- Finally, click on Get Status.
- Further, the status will appear on your screen.
How to calculate PMAY Subsidy?
- Visit the official website
- From the homepage option click on Calculate your Subsidy.
- Then fill the PMAY Home Loan Credit Linked Subsidy details.
- Select the required details from the options:
- Annual Family Income
- Loan Amount
- Tenure(Months)
- After filling all the details, the subsidy amount will be shown on your screen.

Addressing Grievance
To file a grievance in reference to CLSS Awas Scheme :
- Visit the official website of CLSS AWAS
- On opening the website click on the option Grievance from the bottom of the page
- Hence, a grievance page will open
- Being a registered user, you can click on Lodge Public Grievance option
- Lodge you complaint and keep the grievance if to further check the status of the Grievance filed.
